Lampposts and Lollipops is fun to say! But I didn't choose the name JUST because it's fun. Here is the short story of why I named my blogg Lampposts And Lollipops, and why The Great Go! Christmas Show! is a Loblolly L'abri Lampposts And Lollipops Patchwork Poddysey!
Lampposts is from my favorite story, The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe, the 2nd of 7 books in The Chronicles of Narnia penned by my favorite author, CS Lewis, and published on Monday, October 16, 1950.
If you are familiar with the story, then you know the Lamppost is the place where Lucy and Mr. Tumnus met, in Chapter One, and where they hurriedly parted ways in Chapter Two. In Chapter Four, the lamppost was mentioned as a point of reference and navigation by the white witch, to Lucy's brother Edmund, and in Chapter Six, it was mention of the lamppost by Edmund, that gave away the truth that he had, in fact, visited Narnia once before all four children, Lucy, Edmund, and their brother Peter and sister Susan, had found themselves together in Narnia. In Chapter Seven, the lamppost is recalled by Edmund, as he tries to find his way through Narnia, and finally, in Chapter Seventeen, as the story comes to a close, it was the lamppost that led the Children back home, and away from Narnia, for a time.
The meaning of Lampposts is best understood if you know Lewis and Narnia, but if not, I can tell you this. Lampposts signify the mysterious way the Holy Spirit leads us, through our own stories, in ways that we may not know, right away, as strategic, but we know by knowing His voice, to take note, and follow, and remember, the lampposts, the signposts, in where He is leading. As we look back over our lives, the lampposts create a continuity and connect our stories in delightful ways!
Lollipops. Lollipops are for me, a Lamppost! Lollipops became a Lamppost signpost for me on the 3rd day of May, which was a Sunday, in 2020. I will share that story another time, but part of the story is this. My father in law loves to sing a song about The Lollipop Tree for all the little children in his life, and from him, I know the beginning lyrics as, "One fine day in the month of May, I played a funny trick, out in the yard behind my house, I planted a lollipop stick...." It is a fun little song, if you'd like to look it up, made popular by Burl Ives.
One fine day in the month of May, the 3rd of May, to be exact, 2020, in a phone call with Sam Caster, I learned about Alovea Hope Pops, which are beautiful, bright, "Christmas Red" lollipops that are good for you! Really, really good for you! That day in May was a big deal day for me. It was a living fulfillment of the promise of Isaiah 49:23, "those who put their HOPE in me will not be disappointed." It was after many years of putting my HOPE in GOD, that He POPPED up with this fun surprise of HOPE POPS! Alovea Hope Pops are signposts of Isaiah 49:23 to me, and they are the reason for Lollipops in Lampposts And Lollipops.
Fun fact: Sam Caster was born in 1950, the same year The Lion The Witch And The Wardrobe was published. Sam and CS Lewis share the same initials. CSL and SLC, Clive Staples Lewis and Samuel Lee Caster.
The story of The Lion The Witch and The Wardrobe along with the other Chronicles of Narnia, is available anywhere books are sold, and there is an audio version, too! I highly recommend the whole series to you, but at least you've got to read or hear The Lion The Witch And The Wardrobe.
Alovea Hope Pops are available through anyone who sells Alovea, and every sale nourishes a child in need, through Alovea's Buy One Nourish One model of social business. If you'd like your purchase to further benefit others, then call me! Through my LLC, Christmas Cupp, and nonprofit foundation, Pinecone Promises, half of the profit we make by selling Alovea Hope Pops, and all other Alovea Supplements, is donated to bless Children, Unreached, Persecuted, Pour! We do this, because we just "Half Two!"
And that is the short story of why I named my blogg, Lampposts And Lollipops.
